CARDI B SHUTS DOWN THE 2026 BET AWARDS WITH AN EXPLOSIVE PERFORMANCE — AND WINS BEST FEMALE HIP HOP ARTIST
The 2026 BET Awards will be remembered for a long time and Cardi B made absolutely sure of that. The Bronx rapper delivered one of the most talked about performances of the night and walked away with one of the biggest awards of the evening. Culture's Biggest Night just got bigger.
The Night That Was
The 2026 BET Awards took place on Sunday June 28 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Comedian Druski hosted the ceremony which brought together the biggest names in Hip Hop, R&B, gospel and soul for one unforgettable night. From tribute performances to major award wins the show delivered from start to finish.
How Cardi B Entered The Stage
Cardi B did not just walk onto the stage — she RODE in. The Grammy winning rapper arrived on a sport bike wrapped in lights, fiery red hair flowing, wearing a colourful bodysuit that immediately had the crowd on their feet.
From that moment the Peacock Theater knew they were in for something special.
The Performance That Broke The Internet
Cardi B performed a high energy medley from her second studio album Am I The Drama? The setlist included Errtime, Hello, Check Please and Pretty and Petty — which is her pointed diss track aimed at fellow rapper Bia.
The stage setup was nothing short of spectacular. A full cityscape backdrop, backup dancers, a roulette table and a stripper pole — Cardi B used every inch of that stage and gave the audience a full theatrical experience that reminded everyone exactly why she is one of the biggest entertainers on the planet.
She Won Too
Going into the night Cardi B led all nominees with six nominations including the Fashion Vanguard Award, Best Collaboration, Video Director of the Year, Album of the Year, Viewers Choice and Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
And she took home the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist — a well deserved win for a rapper who has dominated the game since she burst onto the scene.
The Rest Of The Night
The 2026 BET Awards was not just about Cardi B. The night also featured incredible performances from Doechii, Kehlani, Tems, Rick Ross, French Montana, Jill Scott, Nas, Queen Latifah and many more.
One of the most emotional moments of the night was the tribute to the late D'Angelo, who passed away in October. His children introduced the tribute performance which featured Ari Lennox, George Clinton, RAYE and others celebrating his legacy.
Ms Lauryn Hill was also honoured with the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award with a massive tribute performance featuring Doechii, Doja Cat, Nas, Queen Latifah, Common and more.

Cardi B came to the 2026 BET Awards and reminded the entire world that she is that girl. From riding in on a motorcycle to spinning on a pole to winning Best Female Hip Hop Artist — she did everything right on Culture's Biggest Night.
